City Commission to Meet 5:10 PM Wednesday

IRONWOOD - Tuesday, December 25, 2007 - The Ironwood City Commission will hold a rescheduled regular meeting and two public hearings beginning at 5:10 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2007. The original meeting was scheduled for Monday, December 24, 2007, but was rescheduled because of the Christmas holiday.

The 5:10 PM Public Hearing, according to the agenda, will be to hear comment regarding Ordinance No. 463, Book 4, an Ordinance to amend Article Section 34-32 -- "Map" of chapter 34 -- Zoning Code of the City of Ironwood. The map will be amended to show a zoning change of four lots near Josephson's Nursing Home from R-1 (single family residential) to R-2 (multi-family residential). The zoning change was previously approved by the Planning Commission. The four properties involved are: 627 Pabst Street; 119 Hibbert Street; 123 Hibbert Street; and 127 Hibbert Street. Topics to be considered during the regular 5:30 PM meeting include:

(1) Awarding a bid to John Dragish for surplus property at 429 East Pine Street for $209 plus legal fees;
(2) Adding the words "the City Charter" to the Rules of the City Commission;
(3) Receiving and placing on file the Statement of Revenue & Expenditures and the Monthly Cash reports from Financial Director, Julie Frederickson;
(4) Presenting plaques to out-going members of the Planning Commission -- Brian Lindquist (serving over 21 years) and Scott Stephens; and
(5) Discussing and considering awarding a bid to Landmark Appraisal Company for the reappraisal of the City of Ironwood in the amount of $214,500.
