IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, April 04, 2008 - Red Cross Volunteers told the Chronicle yesterday that donations were steady throughout the day. At about 5:00 PM CDT approximately 100 units of blood were taken at the Memorial Building. Pictured above are "double donors," because of their size and health, they are able to give twice the normal quantity. The donors are Dale Wicklund, Gile and Brian Hinch, Iron River, MI going to school at Gogebic this year. The drive continues at the Luther L. Wright High School today between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Students donating blood today will receive a free Red Cross t-shirt. 17 to 21 year-old donors make up more than half of all blood donors in the U.S. Jim Albert |
