IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, April 28, 2008 - The Ironwood Public Safety Department is investigating the death of a 7-month old Ironwood boy. On Sunday morning at approximately 11:48 AM, CST public safety officers and Beacon Ambulance personnel were dispatched to an East Oak Street residence where a 7-month old was reportedly not breathing. Ironwood officers arrived and began CPR on the infant until Beacon arrived who continued CPR. The infant was transported to Grand View Hospital in Ironwood where he was later pronounced dead. The infant's name is not being released, pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is expected either today or tomorrow. The Ironwood Public Safety Department was assisted by the Beacon Ambulance, the Gogebic County Victim Services Unit and the Michigan Department of Human Services. |
