59-Year Old Ishpeming Woman Charged With Embezzlement

MARQUETTE, MI - Wednesday, April 23, 2008 - A 59-year-old Ishpeming woman was arrested Monday in connection with an alleged embezzlement of a Marquette business. Sandra Jean Mager is charged with two counts of embezzlement, according to the Marquette City Police Department. According to authorities, Mager embezzled between $70,000 and $150,000, while she was employed by Surgical Associates. The arrest comes after the investigation of a complaint filed by the Marquette surgical firm, where Mager was employed for the past 25 years. After Mager left her job earlier this year, accounting discrepancies were allegedly discovered. Mager is currently free on a bond and will be arraigned on Thursday.
