She Has Them Eating Out of Her Hand

PINE, LA - Thursday, April 17, 2008 - Abigail Alfano of Pine, Louisiana lives in a hummingbird fly zone. As the birds migrated through her area, about 20 of them began frequenting her yard. She had been feeding and studying the birds from the beginning.

One morning she put the cup from the feeder, with sugar-water in it, in the palm of her hand. Because the birds had gotten used to her standing nearby they came right over to her hand. She says as the birds touch down on her hands they are as light as a feather.

Abigail also said with disgust, "If I had known my husband was taking pictures of my interactions with the hummingbirds, I would have put on makeup."
