Surveys Are the First Sign of Street Improvement Progress
IRONWOOD, MI - Sunday, April 20, 2008 - Survey crews were out in full force this week. Crews were surveying Alfred Wright Boulevard and Greenbush Street. It's the first step towards reconstructing both thorofares. Almost 7/10 mile of Alfred Wright Boulevard will be completely reconstructed once school is out for the summer. This complete reconstruction includes: concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk ramps, water main, hot mix asphalt paving, and pavement markings on AWB from Lime Street to McLeod Avenue in the City of Ironwood. Ross Peterson was named as General Contractor for the project. Ruotsala Concret Constrcution will be assisting Peterson with the sidewalks, gutters, etc. Greenbush Street is expected to be repaved by summer's end. The bidding process is still not complete. The engineering firm has been chosen, but no general contractor has yet been awarded the bid. Jim Albert |
