Simmons Trial Has Been Canceled

HURLEY, WI - Wednesday, April 09, 2008 - The Alan Michael Simmons trial that was scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM CDT, Thursday has been canceled. Yesterday, the Ironwood Daily Globe reported that jury selection was to begin Thursday, however, due to a Monday plea bargain agreement no trial will be held. Simmons was facing 10 felony counts as a result of a March 22, 2007 automobile accident that resulted in the death of 18-year-old Cody Southwell of Ironwood. The Chronicle will provide more information as it becomes available.
