Winter Storm Warning for Friday & Saturday

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, April 10, 2008 - The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter Storm Warning which is in effect from 1:00 PM CDT Friday to 1:00 PM CDT Saturday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

Rain should begin by mid evening, mixing with and changing over to all snow by daybreak Friday. Winds gusting to 30 mph will be possible through Friday night, acting to reduce visibilities to near a mile or less at times. The strongest winds are figured near Lake Superior. Storm total snowfall amounts of 7 to 10 inches are expected by the time the heavy wet snow exits Saturday afternoon.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...  sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
