IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, August 19, 2008 - Catch basins along US-2 (Cloverland Drive) are in deplorable condition. Most of them have settled and are well below grade. Several have been undermined and the surface asphalt is missing.

MDOT is responsible for maintaining the US highway. Later this fall, they are supposed to be making pavement adjustments to intersections along the drive. Hopefully, they will give these dangerous catch basins some attention as well.

In the meantime, be careful not to drive too close to the curb along  Cloverland drive. If a tire were to catch in one of these sinkholes, the results could be very serious.
