12" Snow By Monday Evening?
MARQUETTE, MI - Sunday, December 14, 2008 - The National Weather Service in Marquette, Michigan has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that remains in effect until 6:00 PM CST, Monday, December 15, 2008. Snow may fall heavy at times through Sunday. Some freezing drizzle is possible overnight which could cause some slippery roadways. Some freezing rain could mix in with the snow Sunday especially south and east of a line from Wakefield through Bergland to Rockland. A cold front moving through on Sunday night will generate lake effect snow showers late Sunday night through Monday. Northwest winds gusting to 35 mph at times will also produce occasional whiteout conditions in blowing snow. From late tonight through Monday... look for storm total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches with the greatest amounts over higher terrain from Wakefield through Rockland to Calumet. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas. |
