Snow & Possible Freezing Rain Predicted
MARQUETTE, MI - Thursday, December 25, 2008 - The National Weather Service in Marquette has continued a Winter Weather Advisory which remains in effect from 12:00 PM CST to 6:00 PM CST Friday. Plan on wet snow to develop after midnight tonight then diminish by noon on Friday. Total snowfall accumulations of 3 to locally 5 inches are possible. Once the snow ends expect light freezing rain to develop. The freezing rain should gradually change over to rain during Friday afternoon though higher terrain locations of Marquette and Baraga counties may continue to see freezing rain until evening. Any ice accumulation is expected to be under a tenth of an inch. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving. |
