Stormy Kromer Pursuit X-Country Race to Be Held January 3-4, 2009

MONTREAL, WI - Saturday, December 27, 2008 - The 6th Annual Stormy Kromer Pursuit Cross Country Race will take place next weekend January 3-4, 2009. On Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 12:00 PM, the Montreal 10K classical race will be held and on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 10:00 AM, will be the Mercer 15K freestyle event. Participants will start Sunday's race in the order they finished on Saturday and the winner can be considered to best overall skier. All racers will receive a Stormy Kromer hat and the winners will receive a pin to go on the hat.

It's not too late to register for the event, registration will remain open until Saturday, January 3, 2009. The individual registration fee is $50.00 and the team registration is $80.00. Age Categories for both races, teams and individuals, in both Mens and Womens Divisions are as follows: 15 and under; 16-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and the Masters division is for those 70 years-of-age or older.

The starting line for Saturday's 10K Montreal race is 3 miles West of Hurley on Highway 77 to Montreal. Parking will be available on both sides of the highway. Sunday's 15K Mercer race begins at US Highway 51 in Mercer, turn west onto Beachway Drive (near Great Northern Motel) at the south end of town. Follow the signs to the MECCA trailhead.

The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Mercer Community Center on Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 1:30 PM.
