ISOC SnoCross Racer Shows Improvement After Accident
DULULTH, MN, Saturday, December 20, 2008 - Mike Schultz, professional ISOC racer, is showing improvement after his devastating snowmobile accident at Mt. Zion last Saturday. The 26 year-old racer from Pillager, Minnesota was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth last week following the accident. His wife Sara has been by his side the entire time. "Hey Hey! Mike is out of surgery already. Since he is the best patient this hospital has, his surgery was move up to approx. 2:00." Mike's Caring Bridge journal states, "Mike liked the idea of moving it up because he was hungry and would then get to eat sooner." Mike's surgery was originally scheduled for 3:00 yesterday. According to his journal entry, "The surgeon said everything went very well and he should not have a need for any more. Mike's currently in recovery and should be back to his room soon." Schultz expressed concern for people wishing to visit him. "Mike welcomes the idea that many of you want to visit over the weekend, but asks that everyone consider the weather & road conditions. It's been snowing all day in the Duluth area, with more expected for the weekend. Please drive carefully. He's always worried about everyone else!" Mike's wife said she was very grateful for all of the support people have been giving, "Sara extends a special thanks to all who have sat with her for hours, making the time go much faster, while Mike has been in his surgeries. As always, thank you for the prayers and good thoughts." |
