-25 to -35 Wind Chills Today and Tonight

MARQUETTE, MI - Monday, December 15, 2008 - According to the National Weather Service in Marquette, Michigan, a Wind Chill Advisory is now in effect until 11:00 AM CST Tuesday.

Lake effect snow showers will become light and scattered early this morning as northwest winds 20 to 30 mph shift westerly.

Bitter cold Arctic air with the strong west winds to 30 mph will lead to wind chills of 20 to 30 below zero today. Although winds will die off to 10 to 15 mph this evening... continued falling temperatures will lower wind chills to 25 to 35 below zero tonight.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
