GIANT Narcotics Team & Marenisco Police Make Another Arrest

MARENISCO TOWNSHIP, MI - Monday, February 11, 2008 - Two Marenisco Township residents remain lodged at the Gogebic County Jail following a Friday, February 08, 2008 drug arrest.

The arrests resulted from a two month investigation of the case by the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team (G.I.A.N.T.). According to an official press release from Ross Solberg, G.I.A.N.T. member, the narcotics team along with the Marenisco Township police executed a search warrant Friday on the Marenisco Township home.

A 49 year-old suspect was arrested on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance - morphine - and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance - morphine.

A 17 year-old male was also taken into custody for possession of marijuana. In addition, the officers on the scene seized a number of prescription pills from the home.

More charges may result as the investigation continues.
