More Snow in the Forecast!
IRONWOOD, MI - Sunday, February 03, 2008 - According to a 9:15 PM report by the National Weather Service in Marquette, we should expect a "period of heavy snowfall over the western half of Upper Michigan Monday afternoon into Monday evening." A Snow Advisory remains in effect from 12:00 PM CST Monday to midnight CST Tuesday. Snow will develop early Monday afternoon, becoming heavier by sunset. Snowfall should diminish by midnight Monday night. Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches can be expected, with the greatest amounts west of a line from Baraga to Watersmeet. A Snow Advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving. According to the NWS, snow will develop Monday in the afternoon, with possible accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Highs will be around 32 degrees. There will be Southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph becoming easterly at 10 to 15 mph by mid afternoon. The chance of snow Monday is 100 percent. Snow will be diminishing Monday night after midnight with snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Lows will be around 25 degrees, with northeast winds 5 to 10 mph becoming north by midnight. The chance of snow on Monday night is also 100 percent. Tuesday will be cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow. Highs will be around 27. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Expect mostly cloudy skies on Tuesday night with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. Lows will be between 7 to 12 above. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. On Wednesday there is a chance of snow showers in the morning and then a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Skies will be partly sunny with high temperatures around 19. Chance of snow will be 40 percent. Partly cloudy on Wednesday evening, then it should be mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of snow after midnight. Lows will be between 5 to 10 above inland to around 11 at the shore. On Thursday, you can expect mostly cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of snow. Highs around 27. Jim Albert |
