City Website Adds Virtual Tours
IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, February 11, 2008 - The City of Ironwood's official website has added a new feature. Virtual tours that showcase the Auditorium, Balcony, City Commission Chambers and the Women's Club Room can now be seen by going to www.cityofironwood.org. The virtual tours (VT) were created by the Bodega Consulting Company of Dunbar, Wisconsin. As a public service the company provides absolutely free virtual tours of public facilities. So far they have produced VT's of the Ford Airport, Kingsford, MI; the JFK Airport, Ashland, WI; the Emmet County Airport, Pellston, MI; the Mason County Airport, Luddington, MI; the Pedestrial Bridge, Ashland, WI; the Intercoastal Park (Niteshot), Daytona Beach, FL; the River Front Park, Niles, MI; the Natural Resource Center, Florence, WI; the Iron County Courthouse, Crystal Falls, MI; the Habor Entrance, Luddington, MI; and the Bay de Noc Community College, Iron Mountain, MI. These tours can be viewed on Bodega's website at www.bodegadunbar.com. Bodega has also produced a virtual tour of Copper Peak as well. To view this footage, [CLICK HERE]. To take a sneak peek at the Memorial Building Auditorium virtual tour that appears on the City website, [CLICK HERE]. The tours run on QuickTime Video, and you may need to download the current version. It is a quick, easy, and free download, however. Tours can be run automatically, or you can use your mouse to navigate throughout the virtually toured space. For additional photos and information regarding the historic Memorial Building, you can also visit the Superior Chronicle's Memorial Building section and the Ironwood Area Sports Hall of Fame (the Women's Club) section as well. The photo at the beginning of this article was taken by the Chronicle's photographer, Steve Frank. It is taken from the top of the front stairwell. You can study the detail of this historic treasure in our Memorial Building section. The photo can be expanded for a more detailed study. Jim Albert |
