Oval Track at GCF Represents Lots of Hard Work

IRONWOOD - Thursday, January 10, 2008 - There have been a few posts in our opinion section regarding the City water usage for the oval track at the Sled Fest events at the Gogebic County Fairgrounds. The Chronicle contacted City Manager, Scott Erickson, to give him an opportunity to address this issue. Mr. Erickson told the Chronicle that he would send us a letter stating the City's position. We will immediately post his response when we receive it.

The pictures that accompany this article were submitted by a local resident. They clearly show how much work and effort has gone into the preparation of the oval track at the fairgrounds. Sled Fest is a huge undertaking for the area. And many local volunteers have worked long, hard hours to pull this event off!
