AT&T Uses Opportunity to Replace Conduit Along Alfred Wright Boulevard

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, July 24, 2008 - Utility line PVC conduit was installed along the Alfred Wright Boulevard yesterday. AT&T employees laid down the new conduit for telephone and communication lines as part of the street's reconstruction project, replacing the old clay conduit that previously housed the lines. AT&T took advantage of the opportunity to better secure their lines since the phone and communication lines are exposed currently due to reconstruction.

Ross Peterson Construction is the general contractor for the reconstruction project. Alfred Wright Boulevard was one of the worst streets in the City. Perpetual plumbing problems at the intersection of Alfred Wright and McLeod Avenue have plagued the City for decades. This project was long overdue, and one would be hard-pressed to find anyone that wouldn't agree the street desperately needed an overhaul.

The project is scheduled to be completed before the City's public schools open.
