Counterfeiters Pass Fake $50's Locally

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, July 31, 2008 - The Ironwood Public Safety Department,  with the assistance of the Secret Service, is investigating counterfeit $50 bills passed at a Cloverland Drive motel Tuesday night. According to the police report, motel personnel believed two $50 bills passed by a Canadian couple staying at the establishment, appeared to be non-genuine. IPSD Seargent Ron Carpenedo determined that the bills were counterfeit.
