Nice Catch for Local Fisherman
KODIAK ISLAND, AK - Monday, July 28, 2008 - This stringer of King Salmon was caught last week off the coast of Kodiak Island in the Pacific Ocean. The largest one (shown in front) weighed in at over 30 pounds. They were caught by George Witt of Ironwood. Witt is an avid fisherman, and he travels up north each year to do some angling. (EDITOR'S NOTE: On a similar note, the last time I went fishing I got all kinds of bites - mosquito, horse fly, deer fly, "no-see-ums," wood tick, deer tick, and my dog even took a nip at my ankle. On the bright side I did catch something - I got rabies from the dog, Lyme disease from the deer tick and West Nile from the mosquito. So... you ain't so special after all, George!) |
