GIANT Narcotics Team Makes Another Arrest

BESSEMER, MI - Monday, July 21, 2008 - On Saturday morning, July 19th 2008, members of the Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team, (G.I.A.N.T.), executed a search warrant on an apartment located in the city of Bessemer. The search warrant was a result of a two month long investigation.

As a result of the search warrant officers seized marijuana and a large quantity of prescription pills. The prescription pills seized were of many different types. In addition to the marijuana and prescription pills, officers seized a large amount of cash.

A 31 year old male who lives at the residence was arrested for 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana, 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule II Prescription Drugs, 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule III Prescription Drugs, and 1 count of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule IV Prescription Drugs.

At this time the 31 year old male subject is being held in jail at the Gogebic County Sheriff Department. The report will be sent to the Prosecutor and other charges may be pending.

Also arrested as a result of the search warrant were a 30 year old Bessemer man for Possession of a Schedule II Prescription Drug and an 18 year old Bessemer man for Possession of Marijuana. Both were held in jail over the weekend at the Gogebic County Sheriff Department.
