WAKEFIELD, MI - July 03, 2008 - Each year on July 3rd, a great group of volunteers headed by John Granto (chairman) put on a spectacular fireworks display. John and his crew have been running the fireworks display for over 25 years. Organized in 1982 by the VFW, the display brings thousands of spectators to watch this "top notch" show. John and his crew begin assembling the pieces of the project 4 weeks early. The process has been refined so that each volunteer has a specific role.

For those visiting the Superior North Country the weekend after July 04, please be sure to enjoy these events while in town. They are main stay events during the Bessemer Blast, but this year they fall outside the parameters of the event dates.
