Relay For Life at GCC Campus Friday & Saturday

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, June 05, 2008 - The 12th Annual Gogebic Range Area Relay For Life will be held at the Gogebic Community College on Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th.

2008 Chairman Joe Rimkus contacted the Chronicle to remind our readers that they don't have to be a part of a team to come out and enjoy the festivities. "Everybody is welcome!" according to Rimkus. Rimkus also noted, "Don't let the weather stop you from attending! We'll move indoors in case of rain!"

Here is a sampling of some of the activities and events scheduled for this weekend:

• Candy Bars & 50/50 Raffle Tickets - Ben Franklin Campsite.
• Friday Night Fish Fry - 4:00 PM to ? - Served by the Super One Team.
• Hot Air Balloon Rides - RE/Max Action North Realty of Hurley - Tethered hot air balloon rides, weather permitting.
• Face Painting, Candy & Raffle - Iron Nugget Restaurant Site.
• Performance - Friday Evening 6:00 PM - Marty's Goldenaires.
• Italian Platter & Soda - Iron Nugget Restaurant Site.
• Baked Goods & Raffle - Christ Lutheran Parish Team.
• "Passport to a Cure" - TDG Entertainment Campsite.
• Antique Car Show and 50's & 60's Sock Hop, Karoke - 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - Check out the cars and vote for your favorite (for a donation of course!) - Klassic Cruisers.
• Hot Dogs, Apple Pie & Candy - Maurice's Tent.
• Jewelry - Necklaces at the Mauice's Tent - Bracelets at the Partylite Tent.
• Frisbee Golf
• "Miss-ter Relay" Contest - Friday 5:00 PM
• Poker Night - Ironwood Plastics Team
• Crafting - Range Community Church Tent.
• Brats, Burgers, Rootbeer Garden, Rootbeer Floats - Ironwood Plastics Site.
• Ice Cold Bottled Water w/ Flavor Packets - Rocky Relayer's Site.
