Why Does It Always Rain During Road Construction?
IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, June 13, 2008 - Ross Peterson Construction crews worked in the rain yesterday pulling up blacktop from Alfred Wright Boulevard. The asphalt is first removed and placed aside. The gravel and fill underneath is then removed and stockpiled. The necessary infrastructure improvments such as water supplies, hydrants, and waste lines are made. The fill is returned to the street, compacted, and the road can be repaved. New water lines; new waste lines; new hydrants; new pavement; new sidewalks; new gutters; new curbing; and new a controversial paved walking path are all part of the major reconstruction project along Alfred Wright Boulevard. Ross Peterson Construction is the general contractor for the job. He will be assisted by Ruotsala Construction as the project continues. The project is expected to be completed before school begins in August. The street is closed to traffic. Alternate routes to surrounding neighborhoods and Norrie Park need to be sought. |
