IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, March 24, 2008 - Ironwood has a new tax cab service! U.P. Cab Company is officially open for business. Mr. Wesley Acton, owner of the company, applied for a taxi cab business license before the Ironwood City Commission on Monday, March 10, 2008. The Commission approved his license pending a complete background check by the Ironwood Public Safety Department. On March 13, the IPSD gave Acton the go-ahead, and he was up and running.

Currently, Acton has only a one cab, but he told the Commission that he plans on having five cabs by summer. Acton's plans are to have Broadway Automotive and Rick's Muffler, service all of his vehicles.
