IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, March 24, 2008 - The Ironwood City Commission is scheduled to hold its regular meeting at 5:30 PM CST this evening. Through the Consent Agenda, the Commission is expected to approve the March 10th Commission Meeting Minutes as well as minutes from the February 18th Recreation, Cultural, Life Enrichment Committee Meeting and the March 13th Ironwood Economic Development Corporation Meeting. Also on the Consent Agenda are the approval of the D.A.V. Northland Chapter 66 "Forget-Me-Not" Flower sale scheduled for May 8th and 9th; the scheduling of public hearings on April 14th at 5:15 PM CST and 5:20 PM CST to hear comments relative to the condemnation of structures at 305 South Wall Street and 1100 East Cloverland Drive, respectively; entering into a loan contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the City of Ironwood Local Jobs Today Program for reconstruction work along Alfred Wright Boulevard from Lime Street to Lowell Street and along Lowell Street from Alfred Wright Boulevard to McLeod Avenue; and entering into an Advance Construction Contract with MDOT for the Alfred wright Boulevard project. Finance Director Julie Frederickson is scheduled to present her financial report to the Commission tonight, including a Statement of Revenue and Expenditures and a Monthly Cash Report. Karen M. Gullan, City Clerk and Dennis Hewitt, Assessor/Building Inspector are also expected to present their year-end reports to the Commission. Other topics to be discussed and considered tonight include: (1) the of ballot language for the August Primary Election to renew the previous one mill for operations at the Pat O'Donnell Civic Center for a period of four years from 2009-2012 inclusive; (2) the approval of the Contract with Landmark Appraisal Company for the City-Wide Reappraisal Services; (3) the approval of Engineering Service Contracts with Coleman Engineering for the Jesseville Water & Sewer Projects; (4) renewal of Meter Reading Contract to Xcel Energy with an increase of 2 cents per meter for the one year contract; (5) awarding lowest bid to HD Waterworks Supply for the water meter reader programmer bid in the amount of $7,700; (6) and the introduction of Ordinance No. 464, Book 4, an Ordinance providing for the amendment to the "Code of Ordinances, City of Ironwood, Michigan, "Chapter 34, (Entitled "Zoning") by adding a new section, which new section shall be designated as section 34-476 to 34-485 of Article X ("Entitled Planned Unit Development").
