Body of Missing Boater Found

BERGLAND, MI - Monday, May 19, 2008 - The body of Ewen resident Louis Valetti, 69, was located in Bergland Bay by the Michigan State Police Underwater Recovery Team (MSPURT) around 10:00 AM, CST Sunday, May 18, 2008.

According to police reports, Valetti evidently went missing after he stood up, lost his balance and fell out of the boat he was in Thursday evening. Apparently, the driver of the boat lost control and also fell overboard. Boaters on the lake pulled him to safety.

The boating mishap remains under investigation.
