Downtown Co-Op Expands Services

IRONWOOD, MI - Saturday, May 17, 2008 - The folks at Northwind Natural Foods Co-Op have been very busy. Their 30th year in business has seen the arrival of a brand new 12 foot produce cooler as well as new shelving and more. Store Manager, Eva Smith-Furgason, commented, "As the only grocery store in downtown Ironwood it is important that the Co-op is able to provide not just packaged groceries but also dairy, eggs, meat and most importantly produce, especially organic produce."

It takes alot of product to fill a 12 foot cooler, but the cooperative spirit was alive and well and everyone pitched in to help, including Michael Walter, the produce manager from the Marquette Food Co-op. Less than three hours after the delivery truck arrived the produce case sparkled like a jewel!

Northwind Natural Foods Co-Op is located at 116 S. Suffolk St. in Ironwood.
