GCC to Host Follow-Up Session for Next Generation

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI - Friday, November 21, 2008 - There will be a "Next Generation" follow-up session to the October 29th Rebecca Ryan presentation on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008, starting at 6:00 PM, in the Gogebic Community College cafeteria.

Over 600 young people in Gogebic and Iron counties have completed the location-decision-making surveys, including high school juniors/seniors, GCC students and young professionals (people under the age of 40). Will Andresen, co-ordinator of the effort, said he wanted to extend a "Thank you to everybody who took the time to complete a survey or to help distribute them!"

The purpose of the December 10th session will be to learn what these 668 young people believe is important in selecting a place to live and their perceptions of our community. Hopefully, from this information, the area will be able to position itself to retain more young people and attract more young people from outside our area.
