K-Mart Corporate Headquarters Deny Rumors of Store Closing

IRONWOOD, MI - Monday, November 24, 2008 - "Sears Holdings has made no announcements concerning the closure of the Ironwood, Michigan K-Mart and are committed to continuing to serve our customers in the community."

These words were emailed to the Chronicle this morning by Kimberly Freely, spokesperson for the Sears Holdings Corporation, who owns and operates the Ironwood K-Mart Store.

Rumors have been circulating that the K-Mart Store would be closing after January 1st, 2009. This reporter contacted K-Mart Corporate headquarters last week and again this morning to see if there was any truth to the rumors."
