Habitual Sex Offender Apprehended

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, November 04, 2008 - An investigation conducted by the Ironwood Public Safety Department (IPSD) has resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old Ironwood man. Joseph Olexa has been charged with six counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct, 2nd Degree with a person under the age of 13. A habitual offender, second offence notice, was also served on the suspect, which would increase the penalty 1 ½ times. The investigation, conducted by Detective Passuello, began after the victim’s mother filed a complaint with the Public Safety Department.

The suspect remains lodged in the Gogebic County Jail, with bond set at $20,000 cash. Gogebic County Prosecutor Richard Adams authorized the charges.
