Public Hearing and Two Major Topics Face Ironwood Planning Commission

 

IRONWOOD, MI - Saturday, November 29, 2008 - On Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 5:30 PM the Ironwood Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing to review and consider a Site Plan Review Application submitted by O'Reilly's Auto Parts for the property located at 325 East Cloverland Drive (the former Hardee's Restaurant), Ironwood, Michigan (Parcel # 37-52-22-201-340). O"Reilly's has proposed the demolition of the current main structure and the construction of a new building on the site.

 

ESTABLISHING NEW SNOWMOBILE ROUTES

Following the Public Hearing, during the regular meeting, the Commission will discuss and consider action on establishing new snowmobile routes throughout the City. Previously, both the City Commission and the Planning Commission have had discussions on allowing snowmobiles on certain City streets.

SEXUALLY ORIENTED BUSINESS DISTRICT

Following discussion on snowmobile routes, a proposed Sexually Oriented Business District for the City of Ironwood will be discussed. The Planning Commission's goal is to establish such a district in the event that such a business attempts to locate within the City. Without establishing a district, a sexually oriented business could easily open anywhere in the City.
