Snow Advisory In Effect Until Monday Evening
IRONWOOD, MI - Sunday, November 16, 2008 - A lake effect Snow Advisory remains in effect from 6:00 PM CST this evening to 6:00 PM CST Monday. Expect lake effect snow showers to become more numerous late this afternoon and continue through the day Monday. The heaviest snow will fall inland from Lake Superior... generally from Ironwood through Rockland... where as much as 10 inches will accumulate by late Monday. Farther inland... storm total snow of 2 to 6 inches is expected. A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake effect snow showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use caution when traveling. Just minutes ago, George Hallisey posted the following words of caution on the About_Ironwood webgroup site, "Just a word of caution to anyone heading out today - the roads are ice-covered and extremely slippery after yesterday's snow-sleet combination. The intersections downtown seem especially bad." Thanks George! |
