IRONWOOD, MI - Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a lake effect Snow Advisory that will remain in effect from 6:00 PM CST this evening to 6:00 AM CST Friday. Expect lake effect snow showers are expected to increase this evening. Snow showers will be heavy at times and will persist through Friday morning. Total snowfall accumulations by Friday morning of 8 to 12 inches are possible, particularly over the higher terrain areas from Bessemer to White Pine and Mass City. Expect lesser snowfall amounts near the Lakeshore and farther inland from Watersmeet to Paulding. A lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake-effect snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas. Lake-effect snow showers typically align themselves in bands and will likely be intense enough to drop several inches in localized areas. Use caution when traveling. |
