Chronicle's Home Page Gets Over 100000 Hits
IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, October 14, 2008 - After only nine and one-half months, the Superior Chronicle's Home Page has officially had over 100,000 hits. According to the Chronicle's host master, the site, since early January, has had nearly 1.5 million unique page hits, with the majority of those hits coming from the United States. Many foreign hits to site have occurred as well. Germany, Canada, South Korea, Australlia, Great Britain, Japan, the Czheck Republic, Portugal, China, and Taiwan are the top ten foreign countries browsing the site. Many hits have also come from Iraq and other middle eastern countries, largely due to area citizens serving in the military. According to the Chronicle's web host stats, Eva Smith-Furgason's Not Buying It segment is the most popular regular column on the site. Larry Peterson's WJMS history radio programs -- Pages of the Past and Real History 101 -- rank a very close second. The number one story covered by the Chronicle to date was the May 01, 2008 training coverage of the Gogebic-Iron Emergency Tactical Response Team (ETRT).
