GCSD Recovers Body of Drowning Victim

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI - Thursday, September 25, 2008 - The Gogebic County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into a possible drowning that occurred today near the mouth of the Montreal River, in Ironwood Township. The body of a 68 year old Arizona man was recovered and pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Iron County, Wisconsin Sheriff's Office, Saxon – Gurney 1st Responders, and the Iron County Coroners Office. Further information will be released pending the completion of the investigation and results of an autopsy.
