GIANT Makes Substantial Marijuana Bust

BESSEMER, MI - Monday, September 15, 2008 - A 21 year old Ewen, Michigan man is in custody today following an investigation of the Gogebic – Iron Area Narcotics Team (G.I.A.N.T). The subject is currently charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Officers confiscated a substantial amount of suspected marijuana following a traffic stop late last night in Watersmeet Township. Officers stopped the suspect to execute a search warrant obtained for his vehicle as a result of an investigation initiated earlier this spring.

The suspect remains in custody on a $200,000 bond and faces a District Court arraignment later today. Forfeiture proceedings have been initiated on his vehicle and cash.
