A program review of the college’s General Business Programs was presented by Jim Halverson, Business Division Chair and Instructor. The college offers an Associate of Applied Business and Certificate in General Business. The programs are designed to enable the student, working with an advisory, to design a program to fit the individual’s needs. This planned program allows a student to receive a broad business background as well as a field of specialization and provides opportunities for electives outside the business curriculum. Area of specialization include accounting, computer information technology, computer programming, entrepreneurism, applied management, and office technology. According to the College Placement Office, graduates of the program do well in seeking employment. The Board accepted the General Business Programs Review Report, and will continue to offer the program, with the next formal review in the regular cycle with informal reviews of specific aspects as needed.
