Country Kitchen & Romeo's to Close - Steakhouse Coming Soon

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, April 10, 2009 - On Wednesday, April 15, 2009, both the Ironwood Country Kitchen and Romeo's Bar and Grill will be going out of business. The single building that houses both area eating establishments will be combined into one completely renovated steakhouse and cocktail lounge. A spokesperson for the restaurants told the Chronicle that a tentative name of "Maplewood" has been selected, but she wasn't sure if it would be referred to as a steakhouse, a bar and grill, or something else. The new restaurant will still feature breakfasts, lunches, and dinners but their specialty and their focus will be steak. The hours of the new restaurant will be from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

The building will not only be completely redone on the outside, it will also be entirely remodeled on the inside. According to plans, the kitchen will remain pretty much where it currently is, however the bar will be moved to the banquet room. Plans also include the construction of cozy, but impressive fireplaces in the dining area.

The new restaurant will be owned by Peter and Cindy Palm and will be managed by their sons, Robert and John Palm. The Palms are hoping the renovations will be complete and the new restaurant will be ready to open by the end of June.
