Great Deal for Bridge Players at Chip In Island Resort & Casino

HARRIS, MI - Saturday, August 22, 2009 - Harris - The 2009 Wisconsin Upper Michigan Regional Bridge Tournament will be held Monday-Sunday, August 31-September 6, in the convention center of the Chip In Island Resort and Casino, Highway 2 and 41, Harris.

Sponsored by the Wisconsin Upper Michigan unit (WUMBA) of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), there will be games for players at all levels, along with FREE guest speakers with bridge tips, gifts and prizes, daily. Players may play as often or as little as they wish and may come with or without a partner—game organizers will match compatible players.

The tournament begins at 7:00 PM Monday with games scheduled at 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday features a game for teams of four beginning at 9:30 AM.

The organizers are making extra efforts for newcomers. Special games will be held for those new to the game or new to tournaments. New Player Guides will be on hand to answer questions and assist in any way they can.

“We are thrilled to be able to hold an event of this type in the U.P., and we would love to see new faces, especially those new to duplicate,” said Tournament Chair, Denise Hoffman, Marquette. “Bridge is bridge, regardless of the type of scoring used. This is a great opportunity to share the game we all love with new friends and partners from our area.”
