Area Firefighters Quick to Respond to Grease Fire

IRONWOOD, MI - Saturday, August 15, 2009 - Ironwood Public Safety Department and Ironwood Volunteer Fire Department firefighters' quick response to a fire call at 212 East McLeod Avenue at just after noon today, made light work of what could have been a major incident. A kitchen grease fire in an apartment behind Hannu's Haircuts was quickly extinguished, preventing major damage and possible injuries. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters aired out the structure. Damage was minimal and there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
