Jack Frost Parade Rolls Through Ironwood

IRONWOOD, MI - by Keri Singleton - Saturday, December 5, 2009 - Temperatures somewhere around 15 degrees couldn’t stop people from flocking to the Jack Frost Parade Friday night in downtown Ironwood, Michigan.

The floats and various other displays: trucks, plows, available dogs from H.O.P.E., many children, horses, the historical mining society, to name a few, entertained the children and adults who know a little cold weather is no reason to stay home!! It was obvious everyone put a lot of effort into their floats, and other entries, and it certainly paid off, according to the happiness shown on people’s faces. The show of support was easy to see, by way of the crowded streets.

When the parade was over, it was over to River Valley Bank, where Santa, Mrs. Clause, and some adorable elves were thrilling children and adults. Everyone from babies to R.O.T.C. Cadets visited Santa’s lap, receiving candy from Santa’s helpers, the elves. The displays of gingerbread houses were outstanding, and showed a lot of effort and hard work. Crowds of people were there, waiting to see Santa and admire the beautiful candy houses.
