Indianhead's Snowmaking Provides Best Ski Conditions Possible
Indianhead Mountain’s ability to make snow on 90% of the mountain gives Early-Season Certainty to Skiers and Riders. WAKEFIELD, MI - Thursday, December 24, 2009 - As the natural snow begins to fall in Big Snow Country, it will be accumulating on a base of man-made snow which was created weeks before Mother Nature helped out. Indianhead began making snow in early November and will not shut down the system until Christmas Day ensuring an entire ski season of great snow conditions. “We continue to make snow as often as possible to be able to offer a consistent, quality product to our guests well into spring," said Barry Bolich, Indianhead’s General Manager. “Indianhead is known for having the best conditions and we take great pride in that.” Under optimum conditions, Indianhead can blanket nearly 90% of its trails with man-made snow, the most in Big Snow Country. The best snow is made at 28 degrees or lower. “The less humidity, the better to make quality snow.” “Our guests can be confident that they’ll be skiing and riding on the best and most consistent snow surface in our area.”
