Ironwood Theatre Announces December Calendar of Events

IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, December 1, 2009 - The Historic Ironwood Theatre in Downtown Ironwood announced its December 2009 Calendar of Events. The following Events are scheduled for December:

December 4

  • 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The annual Holiday Auction & Raffle in the Ironwood Theatre Concourse Artwalk. Individuals and businesses from around the region along with artists and crafters from North Carolina to Minnesota have contributed a wonderful mix of items for your inspection, all donated to raise funds for the restoration and operation of the Ironwood Theatre.
  • 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Jack Frost Parade Warm-up. Hot holiday refreshments served to parade watchers and participants in the Theatre lobby.
  • 6:00 p.m. Jack Frost Parade. Ironwood’s Festival of Lights passes in front of the Theatre.

December 8

  • 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Holiday Auction & Raffle viewing continues with refreshments served.
  • 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Area Talent Musical Showcase. Once again the Theatre brings forth accomplished local artists rarely seen on area stages. Admission free.

December 12

  • 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The traditional Deck the Halls Fine Art & Craft Fair moves to the Ironwood Theatre combined with a full day of viewing and bidding at the Holiday Auction. Refreshments served. Admission free.

December 13

  • 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Holiday Auction & Raffle continues with refreshments served.
  • 4:00 p.m. Ironwood High School Band Concert, Ironwood Theatre stage.

December 14

  • 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Come early for holiday cheer and place last chance bids at the Auction & Raffle.
  • 8:00 p.m. An Evening with Jeff Daniels. A Concert performance with the noted singer and songwriter, playwright/director and star of stage and screen. Jeff pays homage to his Michigan roots. Following the concert, pick up auction and raffle prizes.

December 19

  • 7:30 p.m. Sounds of the Season featuring two outstanding groups, Saron Lutheran Bell Choir of Ashland Wisconsin and Ironwood’s Chamber Singers, each performing in concert. Join them for a sing-a-long of favorite Christmas carols.

December 25

December 30

  • 7:00 p.m. It’s beginning to be a tradition. Big Top Chautauqua travels to the Ironwood Theatre for another end of the year celebration. It’s Moon Songs and Moon Shadows with the Blue Canvas Orchestra, a tribute in concert to two of their favorite singer/songwriters: Cat Stevens and Paul Simon. Celebrate the New Year one night early at a concert you and your companion won’t want to miss! Start the evening with holiday cheer at Kelly’s Wine bar in the Theatre lobby.
