Polar Bear Squirts Win North Lakeland Round Robin

IRONWOOD, MI - Friday, February 6, 2009 - This past Saturday the Polar Bear Squirts beat North Lakeland 5-2, Lakeland 9-0, and Stevens Point (Wisconsin Central) 2-0 to take first place. The scoring was highlighted by Tyler Morrison's 5-goal afternoon and play makers by Warner Young, Cub Ewers , and Caleb Greenough. Ronnie Nickle also posted two shut-outs on the afternoon.

"I was Especially pleased with the defenseman Mitch Hissa, Ross Peterson, and Alex Jones who had at least 2 assists apiece." said coach Scott Kellett.

All the fore-checking and back-checking was impressive all day long by Tyler Cleland, Gavin Mattson, and C. J. Sorenson. The championship game was as fast paced as any game we had all year long. Greenough was crazy with the speed and Young stickhandling was really impressive and Ronnie was on top of his game.
