Water Nightmares Continue For City of Ironwood

IRONWOOD, MI - Saturday, January 31, 2009 - The first picture of the slideshow above features Supervisor  Bob Tervonen and Working Foreman Joe Magdziak in the Department of Public Works (DPW) main office calling out a crew to thaw water service lines. There were 6 more frozen lines this morning. Also pictured are the two welders used for thawing. The water crew continues working on the 12 inch water main valve on US-2 and Florence Street that has failed. The crew will try to rebuild the  valve. If the valve cannot be repaired it will have to be cut out and replaced. In another frame of the slide show, Joe Magdziak and Tim Pertile are getting ready to thaw a service line at the intersection of Lake and Florence.
