Fire Call Turns Out to Be Overdone Meal
IRONWOOD, MI - Tuesday, January 13, 2009 - A fire call came in shortly after the Ironwood City Commission meeting began last night. IPSD Detective Rod Passuello and Utilities Director Bob Tervonen (who happens to be a volunteer firefighter) raced out of the Commission Chambers to assist. This reporter also left the meeting to cover the story. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were pleased to discover that a tenant in the Aurora Street building had apparently "over-prepared" supper. Other tenants in the building smelled the smoke and called 911. Ironwood Public Safety Officers and the Ironwood Volunteer Fire Department both responded to the call. No one was injured and there was no property damage. Both Passuello and Tervonen returned to the meeting following the incident. |
