Participate in the Snowshoe Walk Through the Caves
IRONWOOD, MI - Wednesday, January 21, 2009 - On Sunday, January 25, 2009, at 3:00 PM the City of Ironwood Trails subcommittee members will lead a snowshoe walk in the Ironwood "Caves" (former mining) area to share their recommendations regarding the proposed Miners' Memorial Heritage Park. Meet and park in the City snow dump site on the corner of Sutherland Street and Lake Street between Frenchtown Road and Ayer Street. Parking will be available within the snow dump site if snow conditions permit, otherwise park on Sutherland Street. Look for the pink ribbons marking the entrance to the site. Free snowshoe rental available from the Hobby Wheel for "Caves" snowshoe trip participants. Pick snowshoes up after 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 25, from the Hobby Wheel. Dress in appropriate layers for the weather. Snowshoe trip is expected to last between 1 and 2 hours. Official presentation of the park proposal is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2009 at the regular meeting of the City of Ironwood Park and Recreation Committee. Questions?
