Parks & Recreation Committee Encourages Use of City Trail

IRONWOOD, MI - Thursday, January 22, 2009 - The Parks and Recreation Committee would like to invite any outdoor enthusiasts to try out the new snowshoe trails in the cemetery. The trail head is located at the Michigan Visitors' Center located at the west end of town. The trails are not really signed but tracks are set, the trail starts at the south end of the Visitors' Center and heads up the hill, at the top turn right and follow the trail.

There is one kind of steep hill that may give some a little problem getting down but its not that bad. At this time there are two loops the shorter loop is 1 mile and the second loop off of the first is 1.5 miles long, there will be a third loop which will be 2 to 2.5 miles long all ending back at the Visitors' Center.
